Born on 9 February 1981, Dr. Manish Kumar Mishra developed an early interest in literature, language, and education that evolved into a distinguished academic career. He completed his higher education at the University of Mumbai, earning an M.A. in Hindi (Gold Medal), a Ph.D. in Hindi, an M.A. in English, and a B.Ed. He also completed an MBA in Human Resource Management, reflecting his interdisciplinary academic outlook.

Beginning his teaching career in 2003, he has served in junior and senior college education and has continuously contributed to teaching, research, publication, and academic administration. Over the years, he has undertaken funded research projects, edited interdisciplinary books, organized national and international conferences, and participated actively in quality assurance and institutional development.

His appointment as ICCR Hindi Chair in Uzbekistan marked a significant international phase in his career, enabling him to contribute to Hindi language promotion and India–Central Asia academic cooperation. Through lectures, seminars, translation activities, and collaborative research, he helped strengthen educational and cultural engagement between the two regions.

Dr. Mishra's academic work reflects a commitment to intellectual rigor, cultural dialogue, and socially relevant scholarship. Dr. Manish Kumar Mishra is an accomplished Indian academic, researcher, author, editor, translator, and academic administrator whose career spans more than two decades in higher education. His scholarship combines classical literary inquiry with contemporary interdisciplinary research in Hindi language and literature, Indian cinema, translation studies, comparative literature, media studies, cultural diplomacy, and India–Central Asia relations.

Currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Hindi at K.M. Agrawal College of Arts, Commerce & Science, Maharashtra, he has made sustained contributions to teaching, curriculum development, research supervision, academic administration, and institutional quality enhancement.

A defining milestone in his career was his appointment as the ICCR Hindi Chair and Visiting Professor at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Uzbekistan (2024–2025). During this tenure, he represented Indian higher education internationally by teaching Hindi language and literature, promoting Indian culture, developing academic collaborations, organizing international conferences and workshops, and strengthening educational and cultural ties between India and Central Asia.

Dr. Mishra has authored and edited numerous scholarly books and has contributed book chapters and research papers published by reputed academic publishers and journals. His research addresses modern Hindi literature, Indian cinema, translation studies, digital humanities, cultural studies, Indian Knowledge Systems, and comparative literary traditions.

Beyond scholarship, he has played a significant role in academic leadership through curriculum development, quality assurance initiatives, conference organization, editorial work, and collaborative research. His commitment to advancing Hindi studies extends to mentoring young researchers, promoting interdisciplinary scholarship, and fostering international academic dialogue.

His academic vision is to establish Hindi as a dynamic global language of research, cultural exchange, and intellectual engagement while contributing to the internationalization of Indian knowledge traditions.
